APPEARING FEBRUARY 20, 2005

 COURT TAVERN

Cancelled.

Hi everyone, James here again. I wanted to write this, as an apology to all the Drisium fans for not performing at the Court Tavern on 2/20/05 as scheduled. I arrived at the Tavern around 6:30, and was all set to play at our 9:30 time slot. At around 8 PM, our drummer Dave arrived with his girlfriend and our bassist Larry. The people at Court Tavern, would not let Dave's girlfriend into the show because she was under 21. I thought this was not going to be an issue because they all knew a couple weeks prior to the gig, that any non-band member under 21 would not be admitted. When she couldn't get in, this pissed Dave off. I offered him a couple of places that she could wait while we did our thing, because it wouldn't have taken more than an hour. I have friends with dorms that are only a couple blocks away in the Rutgers area, and I personally live only a half mile away from the actual court tavern, so we had places she could have stayed and didn't have to wait in the cold. Dave decided that if they wouldn't let his girl in, then he wasn't going to play and he proceeded to storm out of the bar.

I was shocked. Another drummer offered to play that night, and my dad even offered to fill in on drums because he came to see the show and is a musician as well. After much debate, we decided that there was no way we could go on stage and play in the condition we were in. Our music is very complex and the drum parts are complicated. To have another drummer just try and "fill in" without any rehearsal, would be unfair to us, and really unfair to the fans because we would in essence, be robbing them of the true Drisium experience. Bottom line: It would have been the crappiest Drisium performance EVER.

Later that night I talked to Dave, and while I can understand his loyalty to his girlfriend, I can not accept such blatant un professionalism and lack of care for the band, its music, and its fans...especially when it was a situation that could have easily been resolved or even avoided all together. We decided that Drisium wasn't the band for him, and parted ways that night.

Although I am crushed by this incident, I promise you that I will not rest until I find the right combination of people that will bring this music to you the way the it needs to be brought. Drisium has, and always will be an ongoing project of myself, my family, and any dedicated individuals that choose to be a part of it and take it as serious as i do.

Having said all that, if any drummers are interested in trying out for the band, please e-mail me here: Drisium@aol.com. You must be 21+ (18+ if you are REALLY dedicated) highly proficient on drums, with double bass skills, able to practice at least 1 to 3 times a week in the Somerset NJ area, and have a serious commitment and desire to taking this project all the way. We are a serious musical project and we will not rest until our music is heard worldwide.

I am sorry to all the fans again for not playing at the Court Tavern, and as I said if you are a serious drummer please don't hesitate to contact me once again @: Drisium@aol.com
I shall keep everyone informed of our progress. It is not over people, this is just the beginning. We live....peace out.......
